Flores overland Trip 4D 3N

Day 01: Ende – Moni

This trip will begin with a pick-up at H. Hasan Aroeboesman Ende Airport (direct flights from Bali to Ende are available daily). From Ende, we will head to Moni and stop at Wologai Village and several other places to take photos, such as Ndu’a Ria Market, Detusoko rice fields, etc.

Day 02: Kelimutu Lake – Bajawa

We will start this trip by waking up early in the morning to visit three coloured lakes located at the peak of Mount Kelimutu. It takes about an hour to drive to the car park of this tourist attraction from our accommodation in Moni, and then we will walk for about 45 minutes to reach the peak of Mount Kelimutu. From the summit, we will see these three lakes, and hopefully the weather will be good so we can watch the sunrise from here.

We will return to the hotel for breakfast, then drive to Ende to visit a historical site where Indonesia’s first president was exiled. This place is called the Bung Karno Museum. Then we will head to Pantai Baru Biru for lunch.

After lunch, we will continue our journey to the So’a hot springs. Here, we can spend time soaking in the springs, and then head to Bajawa to check in at the hotel we have booked in advance.

Day 03: Bajawa – Ruteng

After breakfast at the hotel, at around 8 a.m. we will visit the traditional village of Bena. This village is located at the foot of Mount Inerie and is one of the cultural centres for the people of Bajawa and its surroundings. Then we will continue our journey to the village of Aimere, which is better known as a producer of an alcoholic beverage known as ‘sopi’. Here we will see how they produce this drink.

Next, we will head to Lake Rana Mese, located in East Manggarai Regency. We will see a vast lake surrounded by tropical forests. Then we head to Mano Village, where we will be guided by the local Tourism Awareness Group to walk around the village, such as to the rice fields, coffee and clove plantations, then we will be served local food and coffee to warm ourselves up in a traditional Mano house.

We continue our journey to Ruteng, where we will spend the night in the cool city of Ruteng at a hotel that has been booked in advance.

Day 04: Ruteng – Labuan Bajo

Breakfast at the hotel, then we drive to Ruteng Pu’u Village, where we will see the traditional houses of the Manggarai tribe. Then we will continue our journey to Cara Village. In Cara Village, we will see rice fields shaped like spider webs.

Next, we will head to Labuan Bajo with several stops along the way, such as Lembor for lunch, Kampung Melo, etc. Then we will return to Labuan Bajo and the trip will be complete.
